Langeland Farms offers grassfed meat & other locally raised food
Beginning this week, our co-op will stock selections of frozen ground beef on the Farmers Market Store as well as certified organic popcorn and certified organic small red dried beans from Langeland Farms located in Decatur County, Indiana. The newest photos in our gallery are scenes at Langeland Farms.
Langeland Farms is a Six-Generation Family Farm that has built its reputation on Quality & Service. Patty Lange Reding represents the 5th generation on this southeast Decatur County farm whose family roots trace back to German immigrant farmers. The nearly 100 year old picturesque family-built homestead is still home to her.
Approximately 300 acres surrounding the homestead were converted to certified organic production in early 2000. Certified organic grains include yellow popcorn, black beans, food and feed grade soybeans, wheat, corn, and hay. A small cow/calf herd of Augus and Angus-crossbreds produce our all grass-fed and Non-GMO corn-at-finish LF freezer beef. Beef is available in units as small as 1 lb. or for additional cost savings, purchase a “LF Bundle”
Our cattle are treated humanely in a low stress environment on certified organic pasture. We add no additional hormones or antibiotics to assure you pure product. LF Beef is processed by a local IN state licensed processor and dry-aged 18-21 days to assure you tender "flavor-full" beef. Our most famous and fun beef sale was for the “Homegrown Chili” Concessions served at the 2012 Super Bowl game in Indianapolis. Langeland Beef customers are our best advertisers – you are invited to do your own taste test. Keep the grill HOT !
